When is the Best Time to Involve an Attorney?

Probably yesterday. In all seriousness, you need to get an attorney involved as soon as you feel like litigation is coming.

If you have been served with any sort of legal notice, it is very important that you schedule a consultation with an attorney as soon as possible. In some cases, the deadline to reply after service may be 14 days or less.

Things move quickly at the beginning of family law cases, and inaction or delayed action can be used against you at court.

If you or your children are in danger, an attorney can assist you in obtaining emergency custody orders and protection from abuse orders.

An attorney can also facilitate obtaining orders preventing your spouse from draining bank accounts or limiting access to marital funds.

If you have a true emergency issue in your case, please let Alexis know when you call in so she can prioritize your consultation. In emergent situations, we can usually accommodate a quick phone consultation as soon as the next day.

If you are in Calhoun or Cleburne County and you need a Protection from Abuse Order, you can arrange to get one by going to the second floor of the courthouse where you live and setting up a meeting with a qualified Victims Services Officer who will assist you in preparing the forms and submit the forms on your behalf.
